Thank you Shaili! Appreciate your writing in. I haven't written part 2 yet! At first, I thought I'll take a few months to do it, but then I realised this was a whole new project -- I would have to read through a few more books and I haven't felt I could devote the time to do it yet. But hold onto that thought, I do intend to finish it, and at that point I'll let you know!
Excellent research based and well presented rebuff of claims. I got intrested in knowing the facts after receiving the same message last night on my close friends WhatsApp group. Google search brought me your analysis which I have shared with my friends. Thank you very much for the clarity your write up has delivered.
Thank you! I missed your comment -- perhaps I was not paying attention to my email where I get notifications!! Please do let me know if there are any aspects of Gandhi or Indian politics for me to investigate...I will do my best!
Riveting read. Interesting that you mentioned Daniel Kahneman on the week Nobel Prizes are being announced. I came across his work last year when I was researching for my newsletter quiz on Nobel Laureates in Economics. I found it fascinating that a psychologist was awarded the Economics Nobel. https://geopolitico.substack.com/p/answers-economics-and-the-nobel-prize
Also, a really good account of Kahneman's partnership with Amos Tversky which led to the breakthrough is told in a rollicking good read by Daniel Lewis. The book's called The Undoing Project and it is highly recommended.
Your support is appreciated as always sir. But to be little tongue-in-cheek -- as a former economics major you will be interestedin the following perspective that economics is increasingly considered a pseudo-science but when you add psychology to it, it becomes 'behavioural economics', much like how astrology led to astronomy :-)
What Gandhi actually did at the time of partition of the country makes us to believe what was being spread about him. His approach was totally biased against Hindus and he took advantage of his position to blackmail the Government and the Congress party as well.
What more documents are needed than to analyse what true injustice he did to Subhash Bose and Sardar Patel?..
Hello, thank you for this comment Jeevmitra-ji. I will treat your comment as the beginning of our conversation, and not the end.
For me, these allegations against Gandhi must be taken with as big a pinch of salt as the claims about his greatness. I believe that since he's been dead some 75 years, we can be rid of both our anger against him and our blind belief in him, and look at his record as impartially as possible. These allegations that he was 'totally biased against Hindus' are the opinion of those who assassinated him.
This October, I will write another piece examining some beliefs about him and give it the in good faith treatment. You are welcome to read it, and I welcome a chance to have a dialogue with you about it.
Excellent. Thank You for posting this.
Thank you Jinesh 🙏🏽
Interesting read - where can I find part 2
