yeah but it's taken me 6 years to start enjoying it. a few disappointments along the way were because my expectations were not adjusted. for example, it is a brilliant adventure but literature has evolved so much since then and you will find that the characters in dashakumaracharita don't have much interiority. but once I adjusted for that, it's been great!
I think I had the same experience when I was reading Bagh-o-Bahar. I felt the characters an their stories were not as nuanced as what we see in some of the 'later' literature. But it was still fascinating.
It is. If you find time, I'd recommend that you read it. Apart from the story, what's interesting is that nobody knows the original author or when exactly was it written.
I heard Kunda:)
Thank you Sindhu!
Very cool format, and Pico Iyer is incredible.
yeah man, I don't know which to admire more, his books or his career :)
I've been planning to read Pico's latest. But definitely interested in reading the sanskrit book too. Hoping to get to that soon!

Ah. Gotcha. Also, Bagh—O—Bahar looks intriguing!

What a great read this is! No doubt a lot to chew on.
yeah Sam, you would definitely enjoy the book too.
